Talks at the Straubing Center of Science
Today, we had two guests at our PhD seminar at the Straubing Center of Science.
Dr. Alessandro Giuliani (University of Cagliari, Italy) gave a talk on
„Using PHI-DELTA diagrams to perform feature ranking: applications in text categorization and bioinformatics scenarios“
and Dr. Kieran Cashin (Burnet Institute / RMIT University, Australia) gave a talk on
„Brief review of the HIV Molecular Pathogenesis Laboratory in Melbourne, Australia“

Dr. Alessandro Giuliani is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cagliari, Italy in the group of Prof. Giuliano Armano. He received his PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering in 2012. His main research focus ranges frominformation filtering and retrieval, machine learning, text categorization, towards web mining.
Dr. Kieran Cashin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Burnet Institute and the RMIT University, Australia in the group of Prof. Paul Gorry. He received his PhD in 2015. His main research focus is on HIV, in particular on viral entry.
