Computer, where is Captain Picard?
Today, our students Dominic Eger, Tamino Kölbl, and Kim Schnuster presented their results from their study project. The aim of the project was the development of a low-cost system for localization of persons in buildings via the voice assistant Alexa from Amazon.
They solved the problem by using several Rasperry Pi via bluetooth coupled to a server that is connected to an Echo Dot.
The idea of the system is to locate persons of interests, e.g., for the localization of doctors in a hospital, however, it could also be used on the USS Enterprise to localize crew members.
