Mahmoud is a Professor for Biochemistry and Head of the Research Group Immune- and Biomarkers for Infection at the Center of Excellence for Advances Sciences at the National Research Center, Cairo, Egypt. This research stay is funded by the Alexander von Humboldt foundation.
